Akron History Center Announces New Hours Through January

The Akron History Center has announced its holiday schedule for 2025 and new hours effective December 1, 2025.

Holiday Schedule: The Center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. The museum will be open Thanksgiving weekend, Friday November 28 and Saturday, November 29 from 10:00am – 2:00pm.

Hours of Operation: In November, the History Center is open Wednesdays – Saturdays 10:00am – 2:00pm.

In December, the History Center will be open Wednesdays Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 10:30am – 1:30pm, and on Thursday evenings December 4th, 11th , and 18th, from 5:30pm – 7:30pm.

The Center will be open on New Years Eve and will be closed on New Years Day.

In January, the History Center will be open Friday and Saturday, January 2nd and 3rd 10:30am – 1:30pm, and January 7th – 10th, 10:30am – 1:30pm.

The Akron History Center will be closed January 11 – January 31, and will re-open Wednesday, February 4th.

The museum opened in April 2025 for the city’s Bicentennial year and has hosted more than 5,500 guests. The Akron History Center is operated by the Akron-Summit County Public Library with assistance from the Summit County Historical Society

The Center is open to the public and admission is always free.
